Day In, Day Out

Sometimes it seems to me that every day is exactly the same as the one before it. And that the next will be identical. Sometimes, I crave a little drama, but when I get it, I wish I could have those boring days back. People are so complicated, and the ways that our lives are intertwined can really screw things up occasionally. Don't get me wrong- I am a complete people person, but why do we inherently cause so much trouble as human beings? Our biggest gain, our freedom, can constitute our biggest loss-human lives. We fight so hard for this privilege, but often we abuse it horribly. Wars, fights, murders, thefts and ordinary daily problems make life so much more difficult. Come on people! Can't we just be happy and live together in peace man? Maybe the hippies got it right!

In actuality, would we really enjoy life without these struggles?

If every day was the same, if every day was all rainbows and bunnies and candy, would life have any meaning at all? Sure, paradise sounds great. But what kind of life is one spent in a dream, somewhere where there are no problems and where all people agree? Personally, I would rather live in something real. Without the bad, how can you differentiate it from good? Without the clouds in the sky, the sun doesn't seem very bright. Maybe this is just my opinion. I enjoy debating and like it when people disagree with me in some aspects. It makes life just so much more interesting, and I despise boring. I would choose a life of conflict over a life of constant peace because I would actually like to LIVE. To LOVE. To have good and bad times. But overall, I am content to have those boring days and those days where I just want to cry because I know that THIS is really living.

New Blog!!!

Finally. After two weeks, Kayla and I have decided on a blog name. We went through tons of options, none of which seemed to fit. "Mango Tango"-nuh uh. "Eyes Open"-yawn... "Possibly Impossible"-next. The answer was right in front of us. Kayla and I have been playing Terra Naomi's "Say It's Possible" for three weeks now and just realized our perfect blog name was imbedded in this song. We added a few extra words, and POOF! We've got a blog! "Just a Passing Thought" is our place to write about our ideas, no matter how lame or even occasionally profound they may be. Prepare yourself---"Just a Passing Thought" has been officially initiated.
